House Call was started in the late 90’s in Harrahan, Louisiana. They were initially just a pest control company operating throughout the New Orleans metro area. In the early years, they expanded rapidly and developed a reputation as the goto pest company when others had problems getting the job done. If it was fumigating container ships at the port of New Orleans or ridding homes of Formosan termites, House Call did it better, faster and cheaper than the competition.
In the 1990’s, the home inspection industry was really just getting started. Previously, buyers were on their own to figure out what problems the home had before purchasing. If the home had an old air conditioning system or a shady looking electrical panel, the buyer may have hired a specialist to look at it, but the vast majority of the home would usually go uninspected. It was not until 1999 that the Louisiana Legislature passed a law requiring all persons performing home inspections for the public to be licensed by the State of Louisiana as of January 1, 2001.
Not long after this, House Call started performing their first home inspections in the New Orleans area. It was a real no brainer at the time. House Call had already built a reputation in the area as a company you can trust and expect to get the job done. Now instead of just inspecting homes for termites and other wood destroying insects, they would be inspecting the entire home from top to bottom.
Over the next few years, House Call Home Inspections expanded throughout the entire New Orleans metro area. Many highly skilled inspectors joined the team and business was rolling. It didn’t take long for the owners to realize they were on to something great here and the best way to expand would be through franchising.
Since House Call is also a pest company, their home inspectors would also be able to inspect for wood destroying insects, something other home inspectors are not able to do in the state of Louisiana. Fast forward over two decades and here we are. There are now over 15 franchises in 9 different states. House Call is currently the largest home inspection company in the state of Louisiana and issues more Wood Destroying Insect Reports (WDIR) than any other pest company in the state.
